Who are you? Describe yourself in a few words.

I'm Wianda, a non-traditional documentary photographer who loves capturing live at weddings. Photography isn't just about taking pretty pictures for me. It's about exploring new things, understanding the world, and showing the beauty of life through my lens.

What in your personal life has influenced you to choose your career?

Graduating from one of the best drama schools should've been it for me. But during that time, I realized I didn't want to stick to scripts and stages. I needed more freedom. So, I ditched theater for photography. It's always been my escape, where I can truly express myself. I made a bold move and switched gears completely, diving into documentary photography and running my own creative business. And my journey doesn't end there. I've also started mentoring and coaching, helping businesses stand out via storytelling. Plus, I've got my own podcast where I share my unique take on things. Long story short, I'm a storyteller by heart, and I don't fit into any boxes.

How would you like to be remembered?

As someone who lived life fully.

What inspires you on a daily basis?

I have a ‘thing’ with how humans touch and hold each other. There is so much to say with just a simple touch. It inspires me endlessly.

What made you decide to follow a creative career choice (though possibly risky) rather than something more stable?

I don't do backups or safety nets. I'm all about following my gut, and it's always led me to creative stuff. There's never been a Plan B for me; it's always been about diving headfirst into what I love. Documenting life at weddings.

What is your inspiration? How has personal experience influenced your creativity?

I live for the connections between people and their stories. My inspiration flows from the people in front of me. My stories are created by what they share with me. Photography helps me understand the world, presents me with invaluable treasured memories, and, above all, is a way to show you how beautiful life really is.

Does your work convey a specific emotion or message?

I'm all about to unveil the beauty of the everyday. Documenting ordinary life at weddings.

After these years of working on your craft, do you still feel the joy of doing what you do?

Absolutely! A decade later, I'm still head over heels for my work. Staying true to myself every step of the way keeps the joy alive.

Do you believe that each person has the capacity to be creative? Why?

To me, everyone's got a creative spark; it's just that we all express it differently. Creativity is taking an idea and making something out of it. Some don't think they're creative because they don't fit the mold, but that's nonsense. We've all got it in us; it's just about doing something with those ideas.

Is there a particular place where you feel most creative?

I'm at my creative best when I'm just chilling out. Whether it's in the shower, on a walk, or traveling somewhere new. Creativity kicks in when I give myself space to breathe and just let things flow.
